The Department offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts in one of several concentrations: Art Education, Drawing, Graphic Design, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, and General Fine Arts. We also offer minors in Studio Art and Art History, and a certificate in Photographic Studies.
Students with degrees in studio art find careers in teaching, advertising, public relations, graphic design, illustration, film and video production, arts administration, art restoration, product and industrial design, framing, and commercial photography.
With over 300 art teachers in the greater St. Louis region alone, there is a demand for art teachers statewide each year.
Students in each major receive professional practice development with a new attention paid to entrepreneurial skills.
As this semester saw the world change suddenly and dramatically, the students in the Department of Art & Design persevered and demonstrated thoughtfulness and professionalism as they continued to explore, study, and strengthen their artistic expression. From all of the faculty and staff in the Department of Art & Design, you inspire us. Congratulations to the graduating class on completing your Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art.
See the great work of this year’s class here.
